A Grade 1 Listed Manor House
This established garden is set around a beautiful Grade 1 listed House next to the Church at the heart of the village. The garden extends into Parkland with a collection of mature trees and beautiful views over the north Oxfordshire countryside.
Oxford Lawns and Gardens took over the maintenance of this garden in 2006 when the property was bought by its current owners. The garden had not been maintained for some two years prior to our arrival and therefore was extremely overgrown and full of weeds.
Areas were initially cleared and then we provided planting plans for areas around the house. These have included a long border almost the length of the drive for shade loving plants and is truly at its best in Spring, a rose parterre with yew buttresses, a long mixed herbaceous border, the design and implementation of a kitchen garden for growing vegetables, fruit and herbs, and most recently a box and lavender parterre. Many thousands of bulbs have been planted around the garden for early season colour.
The garden also comprised existing mature shrubs and trees which have been pruned and rejuvenated and the rewiring of wall shrubs, roses and climbers, along with a hazel walk way.
Extensive lawn care has been implemented including moss treatment, weed and feed and scarifying. A new arbour was installed by our sister company, Oxford Planters, along with a gate, planters, arch, trellis and screen.
