A recently built house of both traditional and modern architecture with a south facing garden set in the South Warwickshire countryside.
Oxford Lawns and Gardens have been helping to develop and maintain the garden since 2018. The garden comprises modern formal planting near to the house which extends out to small areas of woodland and a wildflower area. We have recently rejuvenated some of the existing planting near to the house and are adding newly planted areas. A large shady dry bed on the drive has been cleared, soil improved and planted with a selection of shade loving plants. A pleached Parrotia hedge which has had not training since being planted is in the process of being trained onto wires with oak posts on either side. A secret Provence style garden is under development. We are taking a long term view with the wildflower meadow starting last autumn by flattening numerous anthills and removing weeds which we didn't want to encourage such as thistles. Yellow rattle was sown to weaken the existing grass and this will be over sown again in the near future. Bulbs were added last autumn and again we will be adding to these again in autumn 2020 along with an annual wild seed mixture. Specimen trees have been planted throughout the garden. Woodland areas are being cleared of understorey and plants such as bluebells encouraged and added to.
