A Grand Scheme

A three acre westward facing established terraced garden in North Oxfordshire. A difficult site with many steps and different levels. Soil conditions also vary widely across the garden from lovely loam to very heavy wet clay due to numerous springs emerging from the hill side. Our client has a grand vision for the garden and together we are renovating and redesigning many parts of the garden along with ongoing maintenance.

Projects have included:

  • Implementation of new borders.
  • Creation of a formal Amelanchier Walk including the regarding of a slope and widening of an alley.
  • Travelling with clients abroad to source specimen plants, shrubs, trees and topiary working closely with internationally renowned designers and architects.
  • The garden has been transformed and simplified with the introduction of strong architectural site lines and the planting of formal and organic topiary forms.
  • The installation of specimen mature trees and shrubs using specialist lifting equipment in areas of difficult access.
  • The regrading and returfing of large lawn areas and the reclamation of wilder parts back into formal garden and lawns.
